What's the point?

I drive down the streets and see churches EVERYWHERE! I see people go in and out, especially on Sundays. But, what's the point? Does it really make a difference in my life? Do I do any of the things that I hear about on Sunday? Would I want to? Should I want to? I've been doing a little research for a book that I would like to write. It just seems like so few people "get it". I've only met a handful of people that really get what Christianity is about and truly live it. I am fortunate enough to be married to one. The really scary thing was that there are already TONS of book about that very thing. About "plastic" Christianity, suburban Jesus and revolution. But WHERE IS IT? I see the same old thing at most churches. I think Satan has paralyzed Christians in America not into conformity, but into contentment and complacency and comfort. We think we're great to not conform, but we are conforming -- to what the other Christians around us look and act like (which can be good or bad). So, my question is, "What's the point?" Why even try to fight this battle that seems unsurmountable? Because it needs to be fought! For us and for God. And I think the solution is simple -- LOVE. If we can have a love for people like Jesus did AND love them they WAY He did, I KNOW we would change the world!!! But, we get so caught up in things. Are we going to offend them? What will they think of me? What if they leave the church (our numbers are already down!). Would Jesus care more about a person's soul and them having a right relationship with God or that they would think He's a big meanie? We have to first have a love for people, which can be difficult. If you don't feel like you have a love for people, pray for it! God will definitely give it to you, because I believe this is His will for everyone. Then, in showing them love, you have to remember that doesn't mean doing what will make them happy. God certainly doesn't do what makes us happy all the time. He does what is BEST for us. So, we must do the same. I know it's a little corny, but, "I believe love is the answer!"
